D. Michael Eslinger

Mike began his career in law enforcement in 1966 with the Indiana State Police and served for ten years as a Trooper. He was elected Sheriff of Parke County in 1978, and served 2 consecutive 4-year terms. During his tenure as Sheriff, Mike not only served as ISA President, but also graduated from the 127th session of the prestigious FBI National Academy. He continued to serve Parke County as commissioner for a number of years, and began his career with the Indiana Sheriff's Association in 1987 as Deputy Director. Mike took over the reigns as Executive Director of the Association in 1999, a post he continues to enjoy. In addition to his daily responsibilities to the Association, Mike also serves on the Governor's Council for Dangerous and Impaired Driving, and is an advisory member of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Mike currently resides in Rockville, Indiana, along with his wife, Darla.

Doug began his law enforcement career in October 1976 working at the Rush County Sheriff’s Department. In June of 1978 Doug was appointed as Deputy Sheriff and served as a deputy until January 1987 when he was appointed as Chief Deputy of the Sheriff’s Department. Doug was later elected Sheriff of Rush County for two terms, 1990 and 1994. In July of 1995 he was selected to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Doug was also appointed to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy as a Board Member in May of 1995 and served until December 1998. Doug also served as President of the Indiana Sheriffs' Association in 1998 and also during this time received a Sagamore of the Wabash from the Governors Office. In March of 2000 Doug retired from the Rush County Sheriff’s Department and started working in August of 2000 as the Deputy Director of the Indiana Sheriffs' Association. Currently Doug serves on a number of committees representing the 92 Sheriffs in Indiana.
