In 2003 the Indiana Sheriffs' Association Board of Directors embarked on a new mission for the Indiana Sheriffs' Association. It was decided after the tragedy of September 11, 2001 we needed to grow stronger with our projects and programs. The best way to do this was to evaluate our programs and decide where we needed additional revenue and support. The Indiana Sheriffs' Association Board of Directors did not want to increase the membership dues to further assist the programs such as our Leadership Camps, Scholarships and Death Benefit for officers killed in the line of duty.
In the fall of 2002 the Indiana Sheriffs' Association bought a 2003 Heritage Softail Harley-Davison motorcycle and sold tickets all around the state of Indiana. The Indiana Sheriffs' Association has started our third year of selling tickets on a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Several of the Sheriffs in Indiana also held their own fundraising golf event sponsored by the Indiana Sheriffs' Association and hosted by the local Sheriff or Sheriffs that would combine their efforts together. All of the events were greeted with open arms from our vendors to the public. On behalf of all the Sheriffs in Indiana we want to thank everyone for participating in our events and look forward to 2005 continuing to be another successful year for our programs to grow even bigger, better and stronger with your support. The Indiana Sheriffs' Association has already started our fundraising efforts in and around Indiana. We've purchased a 2005 Heritage Deluxe Harley-Davidson and are currently selling tickets and have already started planning different events with Sheriffs.
If you would ever like to participate or assist our Sheriffs in our events please contact your local Sheriff or your Indiana Sheriffs' Association.
